The background fabric is a screen printed whole cloth piece representing the sky with stars and cosmo from dawn to dusk. Fabric paints were used for the screen printing. Additional surface design techniques included photo imagery and leather work: The horses are paper photo transferred and the piece of leather is dyed, embossed and riveted onto quilt. Free motion line quilting adds texture. Hand dyed binding. The quilt measures width 30" by length 40".
