Free Fall |
||
"Free Fall" quilt constructed by BJ Reed 2002. Vibrant early Fall hues and nature's unique leaf designs are portrayed in "Free Fall". Foundation pieced leaves form the center of the crazy quilt type blocks with over forty different black and white batiks used as the back drop. The alternate blocks are heliographic art composites - hand dyed fabric was masked with maple leaves and painted with Inkodye to complete the process. Free falling leaves are further represented with fine meandering and echo quilting. Size 42" by 52".
It was shown at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival held at Williamsburg, VA on February 26 to March 2, 2003 and at the National Quilting Association Quilt Show in Peoria, IL on June 24-26, 2004.
