Hardwood:
Summer
My original contemporary design series includes "Hardwood: Summer".
Imagine the view one would see when looking up from a huge tree truck
into the sky through summer leaves.

The background cotton fabric was created using a snow dyeing technique. The truck fabric was discharged cotton. The truck was machine appliquéd with contour free motion quilting. Maple leaves on the left were press printed onto wool fabric.
This piece measures 54" width by 41" height. Created in 2010.
