Last Oak
Leaf I

Did you ever notice how the fall oak leaves just hang on until the bitter end. Here is nature's design depicting the Last Oak Leaf of autumn.

The background fabric was sponge painted with fabric paints in glorious fall shades. Stenciled leaves were applied with Shiva Paintsticks. On the sheer synthetic fabric various leaves were transferred with fabric crayons, with the oak leaf in shades of purple. The sheer is placed over the background, then heavily free motion quilted. The overlay and various media give the piece a three dimensional effect. Hand dyed binding. The quilt measures 21" by 21".
