Twin Towers

This quilt was made as a color study before I worked on my final assessment piece for my London City & Guilds Patchwork and Quilting Certificate course, which I completed in December 2005.

Designed from my original BJ's Cabin blocks, I worked this quilt with a rust and blue color theme with red accents. Netting adds shading to the 3-dimension design which represents the twin towers of New York City. On close inspection you can see symbolism integrated into the quilt. Blocks are constructed with crazy patchworking using hand dyed fabrics with commercial batiks, satins, lame, and other various polyesters. Heavily free motion quilted, "Twin Towers" measures 32" by 24".
